COVID-19 survey results April 2021

In our latest survey on COVID, we update our tracking of economic and business health and look at various other issues, such as immunization certificates, the impact of the pandemic on businesses, the measures businesses have taken to survive, and the effectiveness of each level of government.

Survey on technology usage July 2020

This is an overview of the results of the survey on AI adoption and usage carried out in June/July 2020. Based on a sample of 428 senior managers and executives in Ontario, it explores how AI is used, the challenges involved and the needs/sources of AI talent.

High Performance Organizations February 2020

This survey was carried out in February 2020 among 529 managers and executives. It studies what are the drivers of organizational performance, the barriers to performance and what makes and organization high performing.

Coop Conversion Study January 2020

This study explores the succession plans of Canadian businesses, their familiarity with the Cooperative business model and the degree to which they have or would consider adopting that model. It was carried out in December 2019 and January 2020 among a sample of 319 business owners and senior executives.

Data Strategy July 2019

Carried out in July 2019, this study looks at a variety of issues surrounding the “New Data Economy”. In particular, it covers Business and Policymakers priorities, the current status, performance and potential actions.

Business Affairs June 2019

This study examines a wide variety of issues that face Canadian organizations today. Topics covered include: Economic and business confidence, concerns about recession, investment, government performance and policy priorities.

Artificial Intelligence February 2019

Carried out in February, 2019, this study looks at the views of Canadian businesses on Artificial Intelligence. In particular, it examines whether organizations have adopted or are ready to adopt AI, as well as their attitudes and concerns.

Disruption September 2018

In this study we examine the degree to which organizations are disrupted by external forces. This study was carried out in August 2018 and includes comparisons with a previous study done in 2014. Issues such as the impact of technology, labour markets, financial markets and competition are examined along with organizations risk tolerance and investment in innovation.

Insurance Study July 2018

Here we update our study of the Insurance industry contrasting key indicators with those we found in 2017. Topics covered include: the importance of the various service attributes, loyalty to providers and organisations’ satisfaction with their provider.

Success in Business May 2018

This study examines the various factors that drive business success. Issues covered include: perceptions of leadership, decision-making, innovativeness, organizational behaviours, competitive advantages and organizational responsibilities.

Best Business Practices Jan 2018

Carried out at the end of 2017, this study analyses current business practices such as technology, innovation and people management and suggest ways in which Canadian businesses can improve.

Future of Leadership August 2017

The Future of Leadership study looks at the importance of various leadership attributes, performance and the need for improvement, together with the concentration of leadership and the degree of executive turnover.

Insurance Study March 2017

In our Commercial Insurance Study we explore a number of topics: Reputation, Purchasing Habits and Customer Experience. Specific issues covered include the frequency of purchasing insurance, customer loyalty and satisfaction, the attributes that businesses are looking for, the performance of insurance companies on those attributes and businesses’ claims experience.

Economic Confidence Dec 2016

This study carried out in 2016 and covers a wide variety of topics such as economic and business confidence, the impact of the Trump election, tolls in Toronto and the proposed guaranteed income.

Banking Survey July 2016

In our Banking Survey we explore a range of issues, including economic and business confidence, university performance, CPP expansion and Banking performance. In the Banking performance section, we look at how businesses rate their bank, their degree of satisfaction, where the gaps in service are and how likely businesses are to switch their financial institution.

Courage in Business May 2016

The Courage in Business survey explores a range of issues relating to courage in business. This includes a series of attributes that may or may not affect courage relating to entrepreneurialism, risk taking and growth.
